Resurfacing Expert

AVON Anew Resurfacing Expert

Over the last several years, I have noticed my skin having rough patches.  As I get older there seem to be more of these rough patches of skin, even though I cleanse my face in the morning and at night.  Apparently cleansing alone was not solving my problem.

In the last couple of months I have wanted to try to review as many of the AVON products as possible.  So about 4 weeks ago I purchased the ANEW Resurfacing Expert Smoothing Fluid.  It’s supposed to be 79% as effective as a professional  microdermabrasion – without the same irritation.  I figured “What the heck, I”ll give it a try.”  It’s should get rid of these rough patches, right?

I use the fluid after I cleanse and before applying moisturizer.  I usually cleanse my skin and then wait about 5 minutes then apply the next step.  That way I don’t get the tingling sensation.  The first two days, I used this fluid in the morning and at night.  By the third day, I could NOT believe the feel of my skin.  Absolutely no more rough patches on my face.  My face felt incredibly soft and smooth.  You do not have to apply much product.  Now I use the fluid about 2 times a week to keep my skin soft and smooth.

To use:  Unscrew cap, keeping dropper in the bottle.  Press down the top cap button with index finger to fill the dropper with serum.  Then release finger.  Remove dropper from the bottle and press button again to release serum into palm of hand.   That little bit of fluid covered my entire face and was able to put on my neck as well.  A little goes a long way.  If you have highly sensitive skin may not be comfortable using this product.  Also, while using this product contains Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly to sunburn.  Use sunscreen and limit exposure to the sun for about a week afterwards.

I wanted to share my experience with someone, so I waited to meet a sister AVON Rep at a church rummage sale.  We where we were invited to have an AVON table set up for customers to browse.  She and I were chit chatting with people coming in and out of the church and just making small talk.  When I had a chance, I asked her if she had ever used the Resurfacing Fluid.  I told her that I had been using it a couple of times a week for the last week or two and to not think that I was weird but I wanted to get her opinion as to the results of the product.  I then asked her to feel my face and tell me what she though of the texture.  She told me that my skin felt like “a baby’s bottom” and couldn’t believe the amazing results.  I took that as a compliment, btw.

She has since started using this product herself and her husband noticed right away the difference in her skin.  He told her to keep doing whatever she was doing because her skin was looking great.  I actually had someone to stop me and ask if I were from Canada because they said that I have beautiful skin.  Anyone that knows me, knows that I have a very thick southern accent and definitely know that I’m NOT from Canada.  :)

I credit beautiful skin to protecting it from the sun, getting plenty of rest, drink lots of water and using AVON.

Take care of the skin you’re in

My beauty tip for today is to have a skin care regimen.

Avon Anew Reversalist Trial Size Kit

We all think that this is hard or takes too much time.  But fact is, it’s not hard at all.  I realized that from a young age that I didn’t want my skin to look like dried up couch leather.  The only way to keep that beautiful skin is of course to eat well, get plenty of rest, cleanse, moisturize AND protect our skin, even if you don’t wear makeup.  Men this is for you too.  I only have this one skin so I have to take care of it.

I use the Avon Anew Reversalist skin care and absolutely love it! Start with a good cleanser (I use my cleanser while I’m in the shower) like the Anew Reversalist  Renewal Foaming Cleanser then follow with a day time moisturizer like the Day Renewal Cream with SPF 25.  I then follow this by protecting my skin with the Anew Age-Transforming Foundation with SPF 15.  Protecting the skin from the sun’s harmful rays is just as important as cleansing and and using moisturizer.  At night, I use the same cleanser and the Anew Reversalist Renewal Night Cream as my nighttime  moisturizer.  I absolutely love this night renewal cream.  My skin still feels moisturized when I wake up the next morning.  I also use the Illuminating Eye System for the delicate eye area.  Always use a moisturizer developed for use in the eye area for the best results.

I’m trying to get my BF on the skin care.  Will keep you posted how it works for him.  It’s all in the name of product research, right?

What are your beauty tips to keep your skin looking its beautiful best?

Wasn’t quite what I was going for…..

It’s a beautiful Tuesday here in Central FL and since I ended up not having to work today I thought I would do some Avon work.  I am trying to increase my customer base and know that making my brochures stand out from all the other hundreds of Avon reps is the answer.  So, I packed up my brochures and head to our local coffee shop, with a side trip to the craft store, to have a coffee and work on making my brochures a master piece of funny and unusual.

I stopped at the craft store for craft glue and googly eyes.  I’m snickering to myself as I’m paying for purchases.  I’m thinking that I have found the most brilliant idea and no one else has stumbled on it yet.  I was so excited that I even gave the cashier a handmade business card with an Avon sample taped to it.  I have been feeling very crafty the last few days and figured that I might as well take advantage of it.

I get to the coffee shop, order a White Chocolate Mocha, skim, no whip and a wrap to eat and settle into my seat and spread out my brochures, glue and googly eyes over the table and set out to work.

Take my first brochure and turn to a page that has a gorgeous model with perfect hair and skin and glue googly eyes on her.  I’m laughing to myself because I’m thinking this is hilarious.  Doesn’t take much to amuse me apparently.  I take one page from about 3 brochures and have glue googly eyes on beautiful models.  Now I’m sure you all know why I’m doing this….First, we all know that these models don’t represent REAL women.  They are airbrushed to look that way.  We ALL have our own kind of beauty and I hate others telling me what is beautiful and what is not.  Second, it’s just funny.  Open a brochure, turn to a page and this is this big, googly-eyed beauty staring at you.  It’s makes me smile just thinking about it.

So anyway, I have given bug eyes to 3 different brochures and wanted to know what someone else might think and find it as funny as I do.  I sit in my chair wanting to go up to the waitress and keep talking myself out of it.  I remember hearing somewhere that if have the impulse to get up and do something and you don’t get up within 5 seconds then you won’t do it.  I thought about it one more time then jumped up out of my chair and walked over to the cashier.  I didn’t want to be part of the statistic that doesn’t get up.

Here is our conversation.

Me:  “Excuse me.  I want to show you something and see if you find it as funny as I do.”  I’m grinning like an idiot because I’m thinking that she’s gonna laugh.  I open the book to the page with the model.

Cashier:  gasp

Me:  ”You don’t think this is funny?”

Cashier:  “Not really”

Me:  “See?”  Now I shake the book at her, making the eyes move.  Like she couldn’t have possibly gotten the full effect when I opened the book.

Cashier:  “It’s kind of creepy”

Me:  “I thought it was funny”

Cashier:  “No, it’s just creepy”

I think she told someone behind the counter what I did, I know I heard snickering.  I don’t mind being known as the “crazy” Avon Lady but just don’t want to be known as the “creepy” Avon Lady.  At first I felt so rejected that no one else found it funny then I realized it’s just another funny story in my life.  At least she will remember me.  I guess that’s something.

Mom, you KNOW me

I was talking to my son on the phone tonight, like I do every night, and we started talking about video games.

This child absolutely LOVES video games.  When he’s here on summer vacation, he would stay up all night playing video games if I would let him.  I might also add that at 8 years old, he plays waaaay better than me but that’s probably not a great feat in itself.  Anyway, during our conversation I told him that I can’t play video games right before bed because then I can’t go to sleep.  I believe he thought I was making it up.  I asked him if he’s able to sleep after playing a video game and his response to me was “Mom, you KNOW me.  I will try to stay up as late as I can just to play a video game.”

Kids do say the funniest things.

Please tell me why…

Why is it when you FINALLY have a weekend off and you are determined to sleep late…..you ALWAYS wake up early.  UGH!

I hate that.

I think I need coffee.

What do you want to accomplish in 2012?

Goals.

Every year we sit down and plan what we want to accomplish during the year or w should do this anyway.  It may be a goal to further our career, make more money, take a family vacation or just plan have a little better life.  Whatever your goals, it is a good thing to write them down so you can see them every day.  Work towards completing those goals and getting the satisfaction from those accomplishments.

Here are my goals for 2012.

  1. Remember to tell myself everyday that “I AM ENOUGH (I am “enough” of what “I” think I should be and I’m enough of what others think I should be.)
  2. Take some time for meditation
  3. Take a family vacation and spend more time with them
  4. Make President’s Club with Avon
  5. To increase my customer base to 50 by July 2012
  6. To increase my customer base to 100 by December 2012

Construction paper Christmas card

I wanted to a write a short post to show you something from my son.

I made the heart wrenching decision about a years ago, during the divorce, to let my son live with his father.  Mediation was not working, we were on our way to court and at 6 years old, my son cried all the time because he didn’t understand mommy and daddy not being together anymore.  His dad was being a butt munch, so to stop all the fighting and not have to drag my son through any more of this nasty stuff, I decided that I would have to say “uncle” and let him stay.  Now, for anyone in his family that may have found my blog and are reading this right now….I know, I know…. I shouldn’t be calling his dad a “butt munch”…well, Get over it!  It was tearing my son apart and that was deciding factor for me.  From that sunny April day in 2010 until now, my son and I speak every night on the phone before he goes to bed.  We talk about how is day went, what he did in school and what he’s learning in the 3rd grade.  Even through the heart-break and tears, this experience has made the relationship between me and my son even closer than what I could have imagined even possible.

Fast forward to December 2011, the 16th to be exact, I pick up my son in Tallahassee for the Christmas holiday.  We are so excited to see each other.  He gets out of his dad’s car and hurls himself into the arms of his sister because he hasn’t seen her since the summer.  After hugs and kisses from his sister, my sweet 8-year-old son is in my waiting arms again.  I’ve missed him so much I feel as if I could squeeze him until his eyes pop out but that wouldn’t be good.  Might be hard to get his eyes to stay in after that.  We get his bags loaded into the car and start our 5 hour drive back to our house.  He talks the ENTIRE way home.  I don’t care though, I’m just so happy I’m getting to spend a few days with him.  He tells me he has a card for me and hands me a folded piece of green construction paper with a few stickers and a cut out Christmas tree on the front.

Here it is:

I love this stuff

So far so good with my Avon venture.

I’ve been an Avon rep now for almost a month and haven’t pulled my hair out or killed anyone.  That’s always a good thing.  Getting stocked up on samples and trying different products, I love that.  Business is going pretty good.  I’m working at it slowly as I still have full-time jobs that I’m also doing.

Every two weeks, I’m so excited to get my boxes of goodies to give out to my customers.  We get addicted to getting those boxes from the USPS.  Some of us actually run out to meet the truck; not me.  I do meet them at the door though.  :)

If you are interested in trying samples and giving my your opinions, let me know.  I’m always interested in what other people think in our products.   Like everything, some people will love it and some….not so much.

My morning rant

Please indulge me while I rant for a few moments about something that really peeves me to no end.

The entire weekend I had to work at the Assisted Living Facility and the kids and BF were at home.  Yesterday, when I got off of work I came straight home because we were going to BF’s parents house for dinner, so I didn’t notice much of anything at my house.  I came in took a shower and we left.  My oldest daughter did not go because we think she may have pink eye.  My BF’s parents are so sweet, I love them to death.  They are all so smart and have the most interesting conversations.

Anywho, I stumble to the kitchen at 6 am this morning to make coffee and the sink is FULL of dishes, the stove has dishes piled up on it and the counters I do believe.  AT this point I’m not really sure because I was temporarily blinded by frustration and just plain fury of the mess that was left for me.  UGH!  So, at 6 am this morning I’m carrying on like a lunatic because EVERYONE was at home the entire weekend, but me mind you, and the dishes are still sitting there.  It’s not like all the dishes had to be washed by hand, we have a dishwasher, besides me of course.

Frustrating to say the least.

Direct Selling….Again

Direct Selling.  Either you love it or hate it.  I think most hate it but there are a few of us that really love it.

I was in to direct selling when I was younger and didn’t feel as confident then about selling  as I do now.  Maybe I know more now than I did then or maybe I just don’t care about rejection as much now as I once did.  Either way, I’m back into Direct Selling once again and this time with AVON.  I also get to have my sister as a “kind of” business partner.  She is also a representative with AVON but in another city.

I’ve used AVON off and on for years and have in the last several months started using it quite faithfully.  Decided recently to become a representative and purchase my own products and maybe make a little extra money in the process.  Also, hoping maybe to make enough money to replace some of the extra work I’m having to do at my regular 9-5 job.  I’ve ALWAYS loved the idea of working for myself and not having to answer to someone else.

I am excited about my new endeavor and am trying to wait patiently for my website to be up and running.  Once everything is set up I will update this short post with website information for anyone waiting to check it out.
